Nestled in the country side, just south of Indian Head, Maryland, is a beautiful 126 acre farm. Jenny and Vicky have now bought the farm.

The property was practically a blank slate when we arrived in November 1999. We could do anything we wanted, any way we wanted; it was all ours to build our dreams.

As soon as we got our important stuff in, we started stocking the farm with animals. The farm came with a cat and a pig. We brought two cats, a dog, and a rabbit from our house in Manassas. Our Percheron horse and our starter flock of 40 sheep arrived as soon as we could arrange transport, and Jenny ordered some chickens from a hatchery. Suddenly we were a real farm! Our dreams were starting to come true.

Our farm still is, and probably always will be, a work in progress. Each day brings us a new opportunity to work toward our dreams. These dreams change and mature as we grow and learn; we have added new ideas and changed old ones. We made so many mistakes that it doesn't seem fair! Even so, we keep working, and we keep getting closer to living in paradise. And along the way, we've had a lot of laughs and gathered a lot of stories.

The farm now has 91 sheep (lambing season 2001 started 01/30; see the results of 2000), three horses, a pig, four peafowl, 20 chickens, one llama, our dogs and cats, and two farmers.

After all this farming, it will never again look as lovely as it did before we moved in.

In order to get an idea of the demand for different farm products, we'd like you to take our survey.

In other capitalistic news, we've designed T-shirts with pictures from our farm.
