Quilt a Saurus
by Toni Phillips and Juanita Simonich
review by L.
These patterns, primarily pieced but with some applique, feature five different
dinosaurs, including a pteranodon. The book gives a little bit of information about
each of the various dinosaurs featured, to capture children's interest. It shows several
ways to combine them into quilts.

Patchwork Quilts to Make for Children
by Margaret Rolfe
review by L.
Another of Mrs. Rolfe's marvelous books. While most of the quilts are animal-oriented,
she has branched out a little to include doll quilts, a basket, dresden plates, and other
doll quilts. She has a wonderful zoo animal quilt, with lions, tigers, zebras,
pandas, elephants, and other animals; a Miss Mouse Sunbonnet quilt; and a wonderful
penguin quilt made with mattress ticking. Easy to follow instructions, even for the
novice quilter. Truly a must-have for animal lovers.

No Dragons on My Quilt
by Jean Ray Laury
review by Jenny
What could possibly be better than a special quilt made by your mother or grandmother? A
quilt with a special story! In this book, Benjamin is afraid to go to bed alone, but
the special quilt made by his grandmother makes things better. This special quilt is
one you can make too, with the patterns and instructions included in the book. The story
makes the quilt extra-special, and the quilt encourages the child to love to read. It's
fun to read about your own stuff!
